Default PSP! Is it dead?

Numbers indicate that the system is selling by the boatloads, but the DS is selling even more. With the very low number of announced title so far for 2009 (about 25), is the PSP dead in the water?

I personally think it has another year and possibly two left. Many doom and gloom reports are starting to come out now about the PSP like PS3 for the last few weeks. Considering the huge rumor of a PSP2 that IGN started.

Yes, it is pretty much dead unfortunately. It's still going strong in Japan but very few things are released for it in the west.

I bought a PSP when they first came out and I hated it... the analog(?) stick is horrible and the games were not good. I did enjoy the Untold Legend games though.

i wouldn't consider comparing the PSP to the DS as a failure, what other handheld even had a remote shot at being competitive.

there are several factors as to why the PSP isn't as popular in the US as it was in the past.

Yea that analog stick and the lack of any really good games kinda sucks for the PSP as a game platform. Mine has really just become a media player. Remote play is cool and more PSN games should support it. I think the promises of PS3 and PSP interconnectivity fell flat and it was my major buying point. Hopefully Resistance: Retribution turns out to be decent.

I take it you haven't played the demo?

I hate to say this, but get Locoroco 2 instead

Are you able to play the demo with the DS3 like the retail game?
