Default Square Enix Preparing Several Titles for XBLA

Nice. I wonder what titles will be included in that "steady stream" of titles coming to XBLA.

Square Enix has announced its plans to port Crystal Defenders to consoles, including the WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade and PSN versions. Crystal Defenders is a defensive strategy game in which players deploy popular jobs from Final Fantasy Tactics A2, such as Black Mages and Soldiers, to fend off encroaching enemy hordes and prevent them from stealing their party's crystals.

A second title Square Enix plans to release soon on the Xbox Live Marketplace is an Xbox Live Arcade port of Yosumin, a Nintendo DS puzzle video game.

Furthermore, the publisher has promised these two games are just the first of a "steady stream" of XBLA titles it plans to release in the coming months.

Are you serious?

You give SE WAAAAAAAAY too much credit. They'll milk those by re-releasing those in game form for another 20 years -_-;

I'm confused... that is exactly what i'm hoping for on XBL, better in HD than on a damn handheld.

Final Fantasy VII on XBLA is a day one buy, even if I overdraft for it. I'm being serious, there, too.

Why release games on XBLA when they can release them for the DS for $40 a pop? I highly doubt MSFT will want/allow them to release games for $40 and I don't think SE will be budging.

I don't think I can play another round of FF6. I'm currently beating the shit out of it on my recent play through. The only way I'll do that is if the package is worth it. That includes things like new visuals, new areas, new cutscenes...that sort of jazz.

Any game that features paid loot boxes should be rated AO.

Those are tried and true remakes, I really just want a classic touched up in HD.

Either way it will sell and not take much to do, I dont' see it being impossible. maybe even put it in the Originals section splicing out etc.

I did read there could be segregated stores by developer / publisher in the future.
