Advanced orders for Sony Corp.'s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves began this week at retailer Amazon.com.

Orders for the sequel held a 3,619 percent increase in sales upon availability to rank at No. 83 in Amazon's Video Games division on Fri.

The title is slated for release in late 2009.

Additionally, this week Amazon price cut Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to $41.99.
First...wow! And second, I can't wait for this game =)

What? Pre-order already? and people are lapping it up?

Strange that the original didn't really sell much though, that's a disappointment. I had a colleague over last night, so I was showing off all the cool games, and I forgot how cool uncharted was - great example - the shirt that Nate is wearing.. it ACTUALLY wrinkles and moves on his torso. The light plays on the shadows/wrinkles Realtime. Usually this is just done with a texture I would think (check with Vsions and Weasl on that i guess) - but holy mother - I never noticed that before...I'm sure there's lots that I've missed in it - but it all comes together to be really immersive and believable - damn the haters and those who'd say there really wasn't much to it.

Good for the pre-orders, lets hope it's a great game, and doesn't rest on the laurels of the first, but that it breaks new ground, and pushes graphics/sound/immersion to a new level. This would ultimately be good for gaming. It would also be good if those pre-orders translated to actual sales, and that this one would do good. We need more of these incredible games to do well financially, so that art is rewarded, and we don't get cookie-cutter UT3 games (Army of two, I'm looking your extreme direction!)

Im not a gamer and I have finished maybe 3-4 games in my entire life.

Uncharted is one of them,

I heard or read somewhere, there will be a movie coming about it soon,

at least the right has been sold/bought,

Wahlberg might be the one for the role, then again, dont have no proof.

I rather see Nathan Fillion get role of Nathan Drake than Walhberg.

After Walhberg messed up Max Payne.... If he screws this one too I might go Max Payne on him. We need more of a comedian like personality...

Agreed...But not like physical comedy, or observational humor..More like super sarcastic type comedy.

Thats why I loved Uncharted more than pretty much any game in recent memory.

In my opinion Max Payne's main problem was the writing and not Wahlberg.

If there's an Uncharted movie, I say let Nolan North have a go.

Yeah, the fact that the script will written by someone on meth was the film's biggest problem. It may have worked for 2001, but it failed horribly in Max Payne.
