Default Who Remembers the 3DO

I remember being one of the 1st owners in my area paying a whopping $699 for my Panasonic Real Player.

The 3DO was/is fantastic offering a huge leap forward from the competition at the time (SNES, Genesis, Jaguar). It was the 1st 32bit machine to market. Later it dropped to 3rd place behind the more popular Saturn and Playstation.

In my opinion 3DO had the better games when compare to Saturn and PS1. I remember enjoy titles like Gex, Twisted, Killing Time, Samurai Shodown, Total Eclipse, and many more. 3DO developers had an insane sense of humor noted by such releases as Gex, Blade Force (bosses with names like Bee Atch), and Plumbers don't wear ties.

Having sold my 3DO collection years ago, I recently purchased another unit thanks to ebay. So if you have a 3DO hiding away in some closet and would like to sell it or some games just let me know

I remember renting it from Blockbuster for maybe my 15th bday and I pretty much played it for about 3 days straight. I remember playing Return Fire and just running over soldier's tents in my tank to see it go splat. I think I may have rented Road Rash and some other fighting game as well.

I still have my system. The only games I have left for it though are Madden, PGA Tour 96 and Mad Dog McCree (no gun).

A quick eBay search shows they are still a bit pricey...

$59,95, including 3 boxed + 1 loss game is pricey to you? Better not look for an Atari 8-Bit then. Including the necessary equipment (SIOD Interface) it should be well over $100 (excluding games).

Never played one. That price might as well have been $10,000 at the time. Looked cool though.

My friend had a Panasonic one and we used to play Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo on it for ages.

Return Fire - that brings back memories. That is one of best versus games I have ever played.

The system was aimed at an older audience - hence the price of the machine. Games like Novastorm and those goofy but entertaining FMV games rocked - anyone remember Sewer Shark, Mad Dog Mc Cree, or Space Pirates?
