No ps3 rpg's were cancelled, poor xbox

I kid

But in all honesty, I was actually looking forward to this as well. I love mistwalker stuff so that sucks.

Both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are my fav JRPG's this gen.

haven't played Last Remnant

This isn't the Smackdown, but since you wanted to take it in that direction, Endless Saga, and Monster Hunter 3 are two RPG's which have been canceled for the PS3. All I can say is WKC better sell on the PS3 or we might see even more cancellations, especially after VC bombed. The JRPG genre may be losing it's appeal.

Supposedly, WKC is going to sell around 100k for first day sales. Probably means 150-200k for first week. That's solid, considering Famitsu's review, low preorder sales, etc, don't know if it's good enough.

And to be honest, aside from Final Fantasy Tactics, I don't know of many SPRG's selling over 500k.

Valkyria Chronicles if I had to guess, is destined for around 225-250k...(sold 141k in Japan last I heard). These are almost similar to Vesperia numbers in both US and Japan. I don't think expectations for this one were supposed to be massive, unlike a title like White Knight Chronicles, which is mostly traditional. WKC should be a much better barometer for the state of JRPG's on HD consoles.

Cry-On was only ever two concept pictures released in 2006 IIRC, yeah? No loss for that in particular.

But I will say the state of JPN RPGs on PS3+360+Wii is uniformly awful. We get very few and none of them so far have been outstanding in any way.

I heard it was completely sold out though (and its currently going for a 3000yen premium on Amazon.co.jp). Can't sell what you don't have available.

I heard the same thing but a new shipment is coming this weekend. This happens to several big games, so I still expect the game to do 160-180k first week. Gundam Musou 2 also had a similar first day debut. So...probably around 300k lifetime in Japan. 500k worldwide?

Seems fair to me. I really enjoyed VC, so I'm a little saddened that it didn't sell better.
