Default PSN and connection issues

Does this happen regularily to others?

I have no issues going online with my two computers, my Wii or my 360.

But periodically (third time now) my PS3 won't connect to PSN so I can't see my friends, messages or log onto the store. I can; however, log onto the browser and go to any site.

If I unplug and replug my router, It normally works after. It's a fucking pain in the ass.

Is this a common issue? Is there a way of avoiding this?

I've never had that happen. Check your internet connections on the PS3 though under Settings.

Do you have a linksys Router? I had an issue with random logouts on PSN and when I turned off the Media Server option it went away.

Ya I think it's linksys. Or D-Link. I'll check when I get home as I don't quite remember.

I tried turning off the Media Server but still didn't work.

I find the ps3 is not as friendly in working with routers as the 360 is. I had to put my ps3 in the dmz and its excellent now. But putting it in the dmz is a little complicated
