Default HDTV to a NON-HDTV (PS3)

My PS3 was set up on a HDTV. Is there a way to now make it work on a Non-HDTV? I can hear the sound but I can not see anything on the screen.

when your ps3 is off. Hold down the power button for like 20 seconds and it will reset the output to default. You have to hold it even when it turns on

That only effects video settings right. Not saved game data?

Yeah that is only the settings. It doesn't erase the hard drive or anything.

I think all you really have to do is flip the switch and hold the power button down while you flip the switch back to on. And yes, it'll only restore the display settings.

Put your PS3 under a forklift - has to be electric, not propane, and drive over it. That should help.!

Just kidding, it tells you in the book, I think Vsions has it there with the hold the button down trick. I wonder if you could post your impressions of a non-HDTV out of curiosity - and tell us what connections you are using...
