Default Gamer rage!

Snaditor's comments in smackdown about biting his old NES controllers made me think it would be funny to discuss how you cope with frustrating gameplay moments. Thought this might be a fun Friday topic.

Do you bite controllers, throw controllers, kick puppies, etc.? Have you broken controllers or anything else during your little fit? What games cause these fits the most?

Personally I used to throw my controllers. Pretty sure I broke a couple playing the original Driver game and one during the original Stuntman. Sadly/fortunately wireless controllers prevent me from throwing anymore so I just punch my couch. Don't think I've broken anything but a couple of controllers.

I may consider myself to still be a child inside, but I've never thrown a controller or punched anything due to frustration playing a game...

Hahaha.

I used to bite them as a kid. My NES controllers looked horribly chewed up. I remember playign Indiana Jones on the NES and my cousin (whom was babysitting me) was being a bitch and told me to jump to the left off the screen. I said but it's all lava. She said no trust me, that's where you gotta go. So I trusted her, did a leap of faith and boom... game over. I kicked her.

Playing NG and NGII or MM9 has brought these feeling back. I smashed my 360 controller on the coffee table and the play and charge battery pack went missing for weeks.

My African Grey has been getting a kick out of yelling "Fuck Off!" or "Come on... What the fuck". He repeats it now and again.

My brother has this thing like after he beats an extremely frustrating boss (think M Bison from Street Fighter Alpha 3), he'll freaking take his pants off and moon the TV.

He hasn't done it in a while, but he rarely gets frustrated nowadays.

I just yell at my 360/PS3 and call the computer a cheater, as if there is really someone there playing.

Like if somehow the PC manages to parry/throw me when I think it's just impossible, or I hit chaffe in Warhawk yet still get hit by the missle - I get very angry. My dog gets upset when I do this, and rightly leaves the room.

I used to bash the controllers during the Nintendo/Sega days, or punch the floor or couch.

Now, I usually just go on an obscenity laced tirade...If I get real pissed, I jump up off the couch and flick the tv a bird while yelling.

I'm sure I look like a complete tool.
