Default Nier: Automata Demo

Third person, action/brawler games are in pretty short supply these days, but anyone that misses the style of gaming from a good DmC or Bayonetta title really needs to put Nier: Automata on their radar.

The demo just came up on the PSN, and this looks like it's going to be a quality experience for action/brawler fans. Graphics are great, controls are slick (it's made by Platinum, so if you liked Bayonetta, you'll like this) and because it's in the Nier/Drakengard universe, it's going to have a seriously messed up story, probably full of psychopathy and implied sexual deviancy.

I'm really looking forward to this one now that I've played the demo. Been a while since we had a really good third person action/brawler game like this.

Supposed to be nicely upgraded on PS4Pro, side note worth noting. Gravity Rush 2 demo is coming soon too (might be out depending where you are)

The Gravity Rush 2 demo was a nice little slice of the game, but not as impressive as Nier, which as a pretty hefty chunk. Still, they both feel like pretty solid games, and, being a fan of the Japanese style and ambiance, they both felt really good to me. I'm glad to see more Japanese games coming back. 2017 is really going to be my good year for games.

I don't plan to touch either of the demos personally but I'll be picking up both games blind. Agreed, glad to see the Japanese starting to embrace the current gen platforms, and looking forward to the Yakuza blitz that starts next year.

Nier got a solid review from Destructoid. Probably getting it via Steam.

It got quite a few solid reviews. Sitting at a 90 with 40+ reviews. Ordered it today.

I'm actually quite surprised that it managed to stay in the 90s like that. Makes me feel even worse that the sales won't be great.

Still, I'm waiting for my download to unlock in a few hours, so I'll take a break from Horizon to give this a spin.

I didn't realize this was multiplatform. Removed from PSN Wishlist and added to my Steam list.

I finished Gravity Rush 2 last night so I'm ready to start something else. Now to decide between Nier, Horizon, or Yakuza. All seem like good choices.
