Default NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 - highly recommended!

My server is transcoding and streaming a Blu-ray rip to a Fire TV in the living room while I am playing Gears of War 4 with everything set on Ultra.

Everything was running very smooth, so I decided to run a benchmark in the game. If anyone is looking for a new graphics card, this one should definitely be on your list!

Yep, I have one. Kicks VR's ass (Oculus Rift) also. Just make sure you don't get CPU-pegged. I had to upgrade from 3570k (over clocked 15%)to 3770k to get Just Cause 3 to perform well.

The 1070 is an excellent, monster of a card. Some of the guys here are running it and have been praising it in the PC thread.

I have an i7-4790K and it seems to be super powerful. It is overclocked to 4.7ghz. I did add liquid cooling to the system to deal with the heat of overclocking.

I am extremely happy with it too. I suppose the CPU has more to do with the fact that the server can transcode a PLEX stream while running the game with all settings on ultra, but the card never has any problem with anything. I can't recommend it highly enough.

If there is a moderator handy, this can be tossed into the proper thread. I don't come here a lot and wasn't aware of the other thread.

Best bang-for-the-buck card out there now.

Yeah, I have a 1080 myself, one step up from the 1070. You can have almost-as-good performance for about 2/3rds to half the price.

Unless you're playing 4K or doing supersampling in a recent high-end game, you shouldn't have any problems maxing out any game with the 1070. If I hadn't planned on keeping this 1080 rig for years without any upgrades (except maybe picking up a second 1080 a year or so from now), I'd probably have gone with the 1070.

Nah this doesn't need to be moved -- it's a great card, I'm cool with it having it's own thread

Gears of War is a well optimized game. A 1070 is a nice card for someone looking at a new build (or upgrade) that has an Nvidia 8xx series card or lower and is looking at a moderate price range.
