So not ready for this fall/winter's gaming onslaught. Never even finished the one before, hope I change that with this one.

Gameplay & Story matter the most, so just glad to see that milkshake is still bringing me to the yard here.

Can't believe they're still fucking sending plaintext passwords and leaving them around on desks and shit. I was hoping they'd let that dumb trope die finally but no such luck.

Anyway, I preloaded it once the good reviews came out.

Curious about your performance experiences Jake. Saw benchies placing the 1080 at merely 65fps at max on ultra. Seems to be a beefy game to run.

Oh, I got a 1070 and some RAM for this (obviously not just for this). It's on the way.

Gonna try it with my 670 tonight out of curiosity.

Doom demo ran fine on some medium settings despite my specs being way off. BTW I was switching between medium and maxed out and was shocked how little difference it seemed to make visually (huge FPS difference).

I also won a 2011 Samsung 55" LED at a work lottery due to office move. sw33t

670 is rumored to only get 12fps on Ultra.

Well... yes. The min spec is 660. They say that's for low.

The game frightens me. HAHA. Like, I fear another FEAR. So, I'll probably wait for a price drop before tackling it. I still technically need to complete HR. I lost my save, so I'll need to restart it. Which, that opening kills me. I've seen it 4 times now. Can't...skip...it...UUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH!

Playing this on my fancy new 1070/8GB. Definitely this game is a poster child for demanding PC games that don't look that good no matter how many bells and whistles one turns on. You know, it's just not a looker (based on the first level at least, and I am pretty sure it's meant to be a looker, what with the sunset and all). A game like Uncharted 4, while surely on a technical level being far behind the kind of hardware it takes to run this game, looks far better, almost laughably so (though, 60fps would have been nice). You can just tell, all technical fanciness aside, the environments aren't designed to look great but rather to be functional in classic DX fashion.

But the 1070 does smoke this game. You can't go to Ultra without suffering FPS drops, but any visual gains you get over High or Very High at that point are minor and pointless. And at High/Very High, there is no problem.

The game was very glitchy with tons of horrible tearing (with triple buffering on), but once I turned on the Exclusive Full-screen mode in Display Options, all those problems went away. It's quite smooth on somewhere between High and Very High, a solid triple-buffered 60fps at 1080p.
