Default New nVidia cards....March 26th!

Expect something big. Me, I'm hoping for ATI price cuts, LOL. But check out the PAXEast Festival. NVidia says the "next generation of PC gaming" is coming. Look interesting. Best part though has to be the 400-PC Battlefield Bad Company 2 LAN party! Holy shit!

Looks like nVidia had their own version of a 3-monitor setup. I've tried the ATI "Eyefinity" and its pretty badass. If you've never gamed at 5760 x 1080....you are MISSING out. Its an amazing experience. The FUTURE.

Rumor is that 5850's may be 30-45% cheaper by the end of March!! With a heavy slate of DX11 games coming out......well, its a good time to be a PC gamer!

Yeah I've been fermenting my plans to build a new i7/Win7 64 bit PC. So now I can just wait for prices to come down on GPUs and hope Intel releases their newer version i7 processor by then.....

Right now, there's Dirt 2 AFAIK that is DX11.

Skip the i7 and go with the i5. It benchmarks virtually the EXACT same as the i7. Save yourself $200 and by 6-7 more games! Or another 28" 1080p monitor!

That probably has something to do with optimization. Programs today hardly take full advantage of quad cores. I think a little more time might make the benefits of the i7 stand out.

Fermis coming already huh?

I dunno if ill be getting any Nvidia cards for awhile. ATM im extremely happy with my 5850 and my new 5770 in my mid-level rig. Initial benchmarks of the GTX 380s performance increase over the 5970 is neglible. With the incoming price drops, maybe ill score another 5850 to Xfire or wait to see how much a 5970 drops. If the price is right, ill sell my 5850 for a 5970.

Not to mention, how much will the GTX 380 cost? Peeps are speculating in the $500 area. Dunno about the GTX 360. Ati cards tend to be more efficient in the power usage area as well. Main reason why i chose a 5770 over a GTX 260. Ill wait and see what develops...

Concerning CPUs, unless your gonna be doing some heavy emulating IMO go with a Phenom II 965BE. Fast and cheaper than an i5. Or you can score a Tri-core BE Phenom II and if your mobo supports it, unlock the 4th core. If its stable you just got a cheap, fast, OC'able X4.

If your gonna do emulation, go i5.
