It's creepy and beautiful, at the the same time. This is the future of CG Animation. Polar Express and Monster House (best animated film of last year) were just the beginning. If this is a solid effort, and a big success. Then we should prepare ourselves for some interesting films in the future.

Let's hope this isn't Final Fantasy The Spirits Within...phew that film stunk. I think my friends and I were the only ones in the theater, when that came out.

I have mixed feelings about it as I'm not too fond of the photorealistic CGI movies (FF included) however it's had decent reviews.

Anyone seen it yet?

I went to see it at a normal theater ( I wanted to see it at Imax but couldnt) and I thought the movie was not that bad. The CGI is pretty realistic though...and it looks really good IMO. This will definitely look amazing in HD. Actual movie was ok .....the ending sucked.

Really enjoyed that film. I saw it in Imax 3d, and was truly the best I have seen 3D work.

I will go more in depth, if wished.

I might get to see it this weekend. I have mixed feelings on this body mapping animation technology.I really don't know if they should be airbrushing actors or not.
Are all women and men in movies soon to have perfect bodies?

Saw it last night in 3-D (also in German, which seemed fitting for this one somehow). I thought it was great. The stills and clips look more "fake" somehow than the movie itself does. To me, the line between this and something like the last couple of Star Wars movies is quite fine, in terms of what portion of it was "real" and what portion "animated."
I got the feeling after watching it that some of the casting choices were made specifically to highlight what the medium is capable of (ie - Ray Winstone as a buff Nordic warrior, Robin Wright Penn as a younger "Princess Bride" version of herself, etc.)

Anyway, it was quite enjoyable for anyone into that genre, IMO.
