I think any title with ' moms' in it isn't going to draw many kids.

Well, the granddaddy of all bombs, in terms of infamy, has to be Heaven's Gate. It destroyed a studio, United Artists. However, I don't think it's the worst movie I've ever seen. The plot meanders and the soundtrack is sometimes incoherent but I have seen a number of movies that were a lot worse.

Ishtar was a pretty bad flop. So was Dick Tracy. Surprised Waterworld is not mentioned in the link.

Maybe they figured one Costner movie was enough.

Well, despite all the controversy and labeling, Waterworld really wasn't that big a bomb. The director claims it even basically made breakeven after many years. I don't know how true that really is, but the film didn't really flop at the box office. The Postman now, that was actually an out and out flop. Let's just say Waterworld made $264M at the worldwide box office...Postman I don't think made more than $20M. Yeah Waterworld cost $70M more than Postman, it also made a quarter of a billion more at the box office.

What ever gave you the idea that Dick Tracy was a flop? It wasn't. Far from it:

Contrary to popular belief, being a BO flop does not equal a bad film. As the following great but BO 'failures' films prove:

Wizard of Oz
Night of the Hunter
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Why would you consider The Wizard of Oz a BO failure?

IMO, the definition of a BO flop/failure is one that earns a fraction (as in very small) of it's production budget. TWOO doesn't fall into that category
