Default REVIEWERS: Against "The Rules", BUT...

I know that we're not "allowed" to correct other people's grammar but if you're a reviewer for this site, presenting your work to be read by everyone that clicks the front page, shouldn't you be held to a higher standard than that of the standard "message board poster"?

To wit (and this is driving me nuts):

"It's" = contraction. Short for: "It is".
As in, "It's a great film."

"Its" = possessive form of "it".
As in, "To the casual viewer, its main attraction is..."

I only bring it up because every one of you guys is doing it...

...which means every one of you guys is using it incorrectly.

(As in, "Every time I see it happen, it's driving me crazy with its 'wrongness'." ((See what I did there?? )))

moved to feedback, as it isn't blu-ray related as much as site related.

and Cap'n, I'm aware it's/its is one of my weaknesses. It was brought up to me, and I have since put a few reminder labels on the top of my laptop (its = possessive, it's = it is) to try to keep from making the mistake.

If you're going to make a sweeping generalization like that, you'd better be prepared to back it up with examples.

I agree with Josh. Show me exactly where I have done this.

I only go to sites that have this guy writing for them:

edit: And may I add he was a damn good Intercontinental Champion. Very underrated especially the matches with the Hitman.

I like him! Correct his use of it's or its and you're probably gonna have a sweaty leotard on your head.

Those are the most recent examples, but I could go on....

(Actually, the most recent example ((which inspired this thread)) was Nate's 'The Sky Crawlers' review. And now, the "It's trailer..." in the 'Final Thoughts' section has since been corrected. Funny how that works, eh? )

Every one of us? I don't believe I have.

It seems Word catches the it's and its differences.
