Default This site is suddenly locking up Safari

I've been a regular visitor to this site for quite a while now, and I've never had any problems, but suddenly today the news story pages are locking up my Web browser (Safari on Mac OS 10.4.10). I've had to force quit three times this morning. I don't know if it's an ad thing or what. Just wanted you guys to know.

Thanks for the heads up -- I'm guessing it *is* an ad thing -- we'll look into it...

I have had the same problem for days. I thought it was my computer. I have had to take the battery out of my macbook 10 times in the last few days. Please look into this.

I am having issues with not being able to read beyond a few postings in each thread.

In looking at both of these issues, it seems like they be related to a batch of ads that have gone up with live auction info from ebay. I'm trying to have those pulled so we can determine if they are are indeed the source of the problem.

If you see this problem again and are able to get a screenshot (alt+printscreen, then cut and paste into an email), plse send to bugs (AT) highdefdigest.com.

Thanks for the reports and for your patience...

Yes I agree. these must be causing the problems because they started when these ads began. Thanks for looking into this Jed.

OK, we've paused those ads -- is anyone still seeing either of these issues?

I have had no issues since removal of ads, but I would want more time to be more certain if possible.

What version of Safari are you running? I'm using the 3.0 beta (also on 10.4.10) and I wasn't having any problems.
