Default Romney Ads?

Is HDD endorsing Mitt? The rules say no to politics - but Mitt is in the front page all the time. I say - HDD should not be taking money from the republicans or the Democrats. I visit here to read about movies - I do not care for Romney's face in the home page.

Not that I have actual knowledge to what's in the know, but I would suspect those are randomized ads generated by the ad company HDD uses (Google ads? Not sure). It's also tailored to possible web searches you've done etc. I have yet to see a Romney ad for instance.

Basically, I doubt HDD specifically took money from the Romney campaign to place ads there.

Thank you for the quick reply Onslaught X. Are we allowed to sport avatars of President Obama?

Yes. But if it causes issues, we have the right to request that you change it.

Other people have had political avatars, and it hasn't caused too much trouble. Expressing support is acceptable, but starting the discussions is when it becomes a problem.

This is not our doing. The ad networks are in control of what ads you're seeing, except for the ad in my signature for Bloody Pulp, which makes a great gift!

Like any ad, if you find it offensive, screenshot it and post it here, and we can block it.

This one. Please. As a gay guy who's frequented this site for years, this one made me question coming back. I'm not usually super sensitive but ouch. I'm glad I found this thread.

Wow, I didn't see that ad. That ad hits pretty low. It's as strong as those:
"you're gonna go to hell" signs.

I guess with the news this week about the first active gay player in a major U.S.
sport coming out, the opposing side must be on an ad spending frenzy.

EvilResident, it's cool that you could say who you are and not be ashamed about
it. I know that we're not to talk politics here. But I don't think it's politics to say
to another forum member, kudos for being proud of who you are, and standing up
for what you thought was offensive.
