Default Is High-Def Digest becoming a HD DVD Fanboy Site?

I'm not bashing the HD-DVD format nor promoting the Blu-Ray--actually, I own players for both. I'm simply pointing out a bias that I see with this site. This site seems to really be giving HD-DVD a free pass (read HD-DVD Hulk review) while panning Blu-Ray (read Blu-Ray Pearl Harbor review). Both releases are quite good but the reporting seems to be flawed, the "I expected more..." is wearing a bit thin with your coverage of Blu-Ray. Also, I thought that The Fifth Element looked significantly better on Blu-Ray than what I saw at the theater. Using the Fox, "Fair and Balanced" mantra, they are covering both but just as Fox has serious conservative leanings, this site has the same for HD-DVD. I just hope it doesn't continue to degenerate into a true fanboy site as there are so few sites out that that even bother to cover both formats. I'm also hopeful that the coverage for this emerging media becomes more focused where we can truely have no bias.

I don't think the site is bias at all. It's just the fact that more members are for HD DVD. If more Blu Ray people joined up it could easily be tilted. As far as the reviews, I've seen some pretty bad reviews for HD DVDs as well.

The reviews seem very fair to me, Peter is pretty good about both praising and criticizing movies in both formats.

unfortunately, (mostly the Fox reference) I believe that you are beyond right. Besides me and maybe 2 or 3 other people here, I dont think anybody even owns Blu-ray equipment here so its just becoming more bash center of Blu-ray then anything else.

Clear example, "bah Disney not that big of a deal to Blu-ray" but gurandamnteee that if they were on HD-DVD, everybody would be drooling because we keep seeing topics like "omg, Disney is using VCL-1 coding, it means their soon coming to HD-DVD *spoog*..."

Uh... no? If you say something negative about an inferior piece of equipment and/or the quality of a certain product, it is *immediately* accused of being "bashing." If you read all the reviews, and everything about the Blu-Ray HD-DVD debate - Blu-Ray came out with many technical issues, while HD-DVD hit the nail on the head upon release. This quality showed in the releases, while Blu-Ray has suffered from some substandard High Definition releases. This has nothing to do with bashing, but simply stating the truth.

They have also said that Blu-Ray is improving, and with many of the technical issues corrected, the lead HD-DVD has in terms of producing a better product is becoming shorter.

How is that in any way 'bashing?'

Heck this forum is more forgiving then some. On some forums if you even say ANYTHING critical of BD (note I am not even using the word negative here but critical) posts will be deleted - due to bashing. I have come to the conclusion that a) there are NO glitches in any BD players or b) they are not talked about on public forums.

Note: I did see that there were some complaints about some Sony players not being able to play a certain BD disc on this site.

Well I hope we can talk about such topics as adults and debate them as such.
