Smile Best Buy website lists Samsung BD-UP 5000

I was browsing best buy's website this morning and saw that they have now listed the Samsung BD-UP 5000 dual player as "Coming Soon" but the good news is that the list price is $799. I know that the price can change from now to when the item comes out but considering how Crutchfield listed their price as $799 as well in their most recent catalog (and we all know that Crutchfield and Best Buy are not the cheapest places to buy electronics) this is some promising news! Hopefully the $799 price will stick and this player will blow both the LG models out of the water.

I truly can't wait for this player and I am counting the days (or months) until it comes out.

I checked it out on amazon today and it was $999 w/a release date of early Nov....good news. I'd still rather have a PS3 for blu tho.

Yeah i just saw that too, but I'm SURE that it won't be available Nov. 1 since it's been saying that for a few months (even before the delay was announced). I hope they set a new street date for it soon.

Since there have been a few retailers (BB, Crutchfield, Direct Buy, OnSale) which have all had it listed sub $800 I dont think it is far from reality.

I agree, the dual player will NOT be over $800 IMO. The LG sells for around this, and they probably will stay right at LG price.

Amazon.com has updated itís specs on the Samsung BD-UP5000 dual format player. The price has dropped from $999.99 to $799.99. Unfortunately the availability date is now January 1st 2008.

I would post a link, but Iím not allowed to.
