So, now that we know what price they'll be asking for, who's up for a combo player?

I think I'll just stick with my HD DVD player.

its a better pic, its ugly. real ugly. better to have a stand alone Blu-ray, X360 for universal hd-dvd rentals.

Well it's definitely not going to win any friends in the looks department. But this is a major step forward for both formats.

Okay, so I definitely don't want this now...

According to the link above, this player does not support IHD completely. Big thumbs down there.

Prices will come down and now the public has more options. Good news for both formats.

If this player can produce quality video (we don't want another Samsung on our hands), I will almost definitely buy one. If I'm looking at $500 for an quality HD DVD player, and $500 for a BD player, the extra ~$200 buys the space savings of not having two players.

I don't care if it's ugly... you won't see it when the lights are off, and the 60" TV is playing 1080p (from 7.5 feet away). I have said from the beginning that if Blu-ray can come to the table AT the price of HD DVD (with matching quality) I'm in.

Now, I don't have to worry about studios at all (funny, I think I've said that before... LOL).
