Default LG Booth Tour - CES 2011

LG has plenty of new tech for CES 2011, with a strong focus on their new passive 3D televisions. They’ve also got washing machines that can text you, though I’m still not clear on the “why.”

texting washingmachines are for people like me, who forget they've put a wash in and then find very smelly clothes the next day....

Sadly I wasn't able to get to Panasonic in time due to time constraints and monorail lines.

CES this is year was hell. 15,000 more people showed up this year compared to last year. Also the booth locations don't help either. It used to be all "back-bone" technology being grouped together (such as SRS, Dolby, DTS, Control4, THX), this year Control 4 and DTS are still in the South Hall, but Dolby was in Central Hall tucked in the PC area, THX was not even at the convention centre, the same goes with SRS.

Even food for journalists have been cut down. Believe it or not, there were only 100 portions of food for all the journalists at the Venetian yesterday and only 60 portions for today.

I used to love CES, but not this year. This year I hate it with all my might.

Has the time come for CES to be a travelling multi-date show (much like car shows, boat & trailer, home & garden caravans)??? I know I can't afford to get to the show, but I would definitely drop some coin for this more than any other event happening at the local trade/event centre.

Even worse, I saw Vizio at the Wynn, which apparently didn't have shuttle service. Had to walk from the Imperial Palace!

Dolby was in the Rain Man suite at the Ceasers, but I didn't mind that quite as much. Hooray for chocolate fountains, lol.

I don't know about that, but I think some of the companies should start breaking off like the game companies did with E3. There's just too much at CES and no possible way to see it all. Hell, I couldn't even see all the TV companies, lol.
