Baz Luhrmann, Michael Mann and Oliver Stone sit down to talk about how they see the Blu-ray format and how the adaption of Blu-ray changes the way they make movies.

Love the final words from Baz Luhrmann. He really captures how films should be restored and don't need to be overprocessed with teal and degrain filters..

Did they show the current Wall Street bluray on the big screen? I've not got round to picking it up, but the review here said it looked pretty poor.

They did show off the new movie, but it was really hard to judge picture quality in that viewing environment. We were pretty far back from the screens they were using (the biggest one just had a Panasonic/Fox logo on rotation) and it was incredibly bright.

Default "The Keep"???

Did no one think to ask Mr. Mann about progress in bringing his "director's cut" of the Paramount film The Keep (1983) to blu-ray disc and DVD?!?!? [ugh!]

Unfortunately, there was no Q&A as originally planned, so we didn't have the chance.

Funny that they mentioned the Wizard of Oz, when I saw it on Blue I was amazed by the detail. Then I wondered if the movie was meant to be seen this way, as the detail revealed make up and skull caps like crazy. Thin line I guess.

God how I wish Olive Films would put "the KEEP" on a short list and at the least, get out a respectable Blu Ray version! Though I would love a special edition (with deleted alternate ending) that is bloody unlikely. I last heard the Mann had completely dis-owned this 1983 film from his past. Apparently he views it as unredeemable.
