Default Hands On With Oakley’s 3D Glasses – CES 2011

The folks at Oakley set out to convince me of the value of their specialty glasses – I come out convinced. I wouldn't recommend them for casual theatrical viewing based on the price alone, but if you're picking up a TV that uses passive tech, these glasses can definitely improve the experience.

You'll find pictures of the Oakley Mobile Labratory up soon on The Bonus View.

Great review. I was in the same mind as you when I initially read about the fancy glasses from Oakley. Now the only problem is....how many 3D movies coming out this year will actually justify the premium price for the glasses?? Besides Green Hornet I have no clue what movies are releasing in 3D for 2011 (I guess I need to get some research done).

There's no byline in the post, so no, I don't know you. I'd have to follow the link to the forum to find out who wrote this? C'mon, guys.

I saw them at CES in their mobile lab. They convinced me too that the optics in their quality glasses would make a big difference and probably would be worth the one time purchase for something that you could use for a long time. If you consider them a AV component one can justify it a lot easier.

A lot of 3D issues probably would go away with a lot of folks, eyestrain etc, with more precise optics.
