Description
Do you like first-person shooters? Do you enjoy hanging out with guys who make video games? Do you consider professionally-catered appetizers “food of the gods?” If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then you don’t want to miss our MAG Community Event in Las Vegas!

All you have to do, besides be 18 years of age or older, is show up at the brand new Aria Hotel at CityCenter on Thursday, January 7 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Once you’re there, you can sit back and mingle with the developers of MAG, and be among the first groups of people to try out the final PSN beta for MAG – one of the most extensive and ambitious beta programs in PlayStation history.

Keep in mind, we’re limiting entry to the event to only the first 100 people, so don’t think you can just waltz right in and take all of our hors d'oeuvres buddy!

If you want to go, be sure to RSVP on this page. If you don’t let us know you’re coming via Facebook, then we won’t let you in at the event – so don’t forget this important step.

Here are the details you need:

· You must be 18 years-old or older - ID *will* be checked!
· You must RSVP via this Facebook event invite
· Don't hang out in the main lobby! Line up outside Juniper rooms 2 & 3.
· No "The Hangover" references allowed - they're played out! :-)

Here is Facebook link to register
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?ei...9882097&ref=mf

I will be there and will post reviews and videos (if they allow me too).

MAG party was great, played for almost 3 hours. Noticed 40+ people playing no lag, graphics were very good but equal to Modern Warfare. Movement is fast guns handle well should be a hit for PS3 owners. Only thing I didn't like was the long wait in lobby while game loaded.

Great food and I get a free copy of MAG! Guess I need to buy a PS3 now. I have videos will upload by weekend.

Dang you get a free copy? It's a very fun and competitive FPS I must say.

40 people with no lag isn't really a feat though. What about their claims for 200+ people?

Wow, looks pretty cool! I'll have to wait on some more videos and info to know if the game is for me though

I agree, the graphics and textures, from what we can see, look pretty nice.

by the way it looks (and going by looks only) it sort of reminds me of a counterstrike meets modern warfare. that's not really my bag - but we'll see; there's a lot i dont know about mag

Hey Badger, I don't know if you realize it or not, but you have access to the MAG Beta now. It's fully open. Just download it from the store....

It's a painful process - not the actual beta download, but all the patches and updates you have to download once you first try and start up the game.

I posted some initial impressions of mine after about a 30 minute session with it in the MAG beta thread.

I've been playing the beta the last few days. I hate console FPS but my friend wanted to play this with me so I've been doing my best not to miss my mouse and keyboard.

Impressions:
It's a cross between SOCOM, COD, meets CS. It's made by the guys who mad SOCOM so you can feel it's a little SOCOMish.

I like it. You level like COD, to get new items, faster running recovery, better repair skills, the ability to heal others and revive others ect.

The game is entirely based upon teams. Basically in the standard low level mode in beta there are 4 different groups. 2 of the groups are on the same team, but both are supposed to be defending or acquiring their own specific target area. Are people too stupid to figure this out in beta? Most yes. But when you have a good team it's a lot more fun, and everything makes more sense. Capture or lose a certain point can gain you parachuting in. If you die, you can either bleed out and go back to spawn, or wait for a medic to revive you ( rare in beta ). If you are shot in the head or knifed you cannot be revived ( perhaps nades and rawk it lawn chairs as well ).

I'm only level 10, but I must say it's been rather enjoyable.

The update is 1.8 gb and cannot be downloaded in background. LAME... better leave it on over night or something.

There is a 256 player mode in beta but you have to be level 10. I just turned level 10 so I haven't tried it yet.
