Default 'Thirst' (Korean)

Well, this really sucks.

'Thirst' is scheduled for Nov. 17th on DVD, but no fracking BD. It's the new vampire movie from Chan-wook Park, and it looks freaking gorgeous!

Here's more info if you're not familiar with it.

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.

While I disappointed at Universal for not releasing a Blu-ray, you may be pleased to know that it will be released on Blu-ray sometime next spring in the UK by Palisades Tartan, although there is a pretty fair chance that it will be region-B locked.

yeah, read about that somewhere, but you're right, very likely region-locked. I'm still very much tempted to buy a Momitsu player, so many titles available in other regions.

I'll wait and see if there's a Korean release before finally deciding.

As much as I want to watch this movie again I think I'll wait for the Korean DVD release. When it screened at the 2009 PIFF this year it had a longer cut so I'm hopeful that the theatrical and the longer cut will be on the Korean DVD. I hope this does get the high-def treatment for Region A players soon because this is yet another Park Chan-wook visual masterpiece.

Isn't Korea region A? Or at least Japan?
