Hmmm, I guess when I watched this film it flew over my head. Honestly I was kind of board durring it. I have no idea why, typically I do like gangster films and the premise did interest me. For whatever reason, it just didn't work.

Ought to rewatch it. I thought it was great. I thought it was beautifully shot and Tom Hanks and Paul Newman delivered wonderful performances. It was well acted all around

This film is a must own on Blu-ray. Besides being a very good film overall, Conrad Hall's magnificent (his last film), oscar winning cinematography cries out for a blu-ray quality release.

i think the film's a 10/10 masterpiece and it's my favorite mendes film, and i love his films. probably my favorite hanks performance, one of my top 3 newman performances, favorite performance of craig other than his 007, and from what i can recall, my favorite jude law performance. this movie equals the definition of beautiful film making with everything flowing so perfectly smooth that each time i watch it it just gets better. my favorite film of 02.

yeah i think all of mendes' films, especially RTP, are beautifully, beautifully shot and should've been the first films in line fore blu-ray makeover when the format his the world 3.5 years ago.

Absolutely!! One of my favorite films. I'd be the first in line to get this on Blu!

American Beauty would probably be the first Mendes film on BD, but like others said, this is his best work to date, IMHO. Hopefully it will happen soon.
