Well, rules were meant to be broken. Just going by the High Fidelity standard. Off the top of my head, I'd also love Days Of Heaven, Chasing Amy, every Kurosawa movie, The Royal Tennenbaums, Brazil, M, 8 1/2, Traffic...let's just go with the whole catalog.

If this wasn't OOP, it would have replaced Autumn Sonata in my five... I just wanted something that Sven Nykvist shot in the list, and Unbearable is definitely my favorite of his in the CC.

LOL.. in that case, the rest of my "I want these in Blu-ray yesterday" Criterion list -- Berlin Alexanderplatz (although dubious as to how this would look... very brown, of course, but it's stlll worth a double dip in my mind), M, The Red Shoes, Yojimbo, Charade, Orpheus, The Magic Flute, The Element of Crime (almost cracked the top 5), Spartacus, The Hidden Fortress, 8 1/2, In the Mood for Love, The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum, My Life as a Dog, The Marrige of Maria Braun, Winter Light, Le cercle rouge, The Testament of Dr. Mabuse, A Woman Under the Influence, My Own Private Idaho, Ran (no idea how this didn't make the top five, I must have been tired), Ace in the Hole....

I guess that also mirrors my list of "favorite Criterion films, fancy that.

Anyway, I'm getting the credit card warmed up for October!
