Default Pink Floyd "The Wall" on Blu-Ray?

I would love to this hit someday! Perfect mix of live action and animation. Imagine the soundtrack? I have the 1999 Special Limited Edition SD which has the original widescreen Hi Definition film transfer. This disc looks great upconverted! The source seems to be perfect? I think it would sell very well.........

I think MGM has the rights to it, so we'll most likley never see it?

Who knows?

All in all is just another brick in the wall..............

I knew I wasn't the only one waiting for this. One of the greatest rock album musicals, right there with Tommy (another one I'd like to see get a Blu release).

BTW, it was a MGM theatrical release, but the DVD rights belong to Sony Music.

I can't believe we have yet to see this surface? Does MGM own it? Sony maybe? I can't recall?

MGM has the rights theatrically, but Sony has the video rights because Pink Floyd used to be on Columbia Records in the US. In fact, they still have the rights to the last three albums they did: "The Division Bell," "Pulse" and "Is There Anybody Out There?"

i suspect Sony will probably get this out eventually, maybe to take advantage of this project Roger Waters is working on. It'll definitely have at least a TrueHD or DTS-HD soundtrack; I think most studios have dumped the 5.1 PCM soundtracks because they can get better sound out of TrueHD/DTS-HD with less space used.

this year would be the best time as it is the 30th anniversary and new concerts are being put on by Waters.

Still nothing? I mean Star Wars and LOTR have made it, so has Troma and Rocky Horror, and tons of things in between. There are still many classics that have yet to make it, but few so stunning as this one on both audio and video. I have it on my DVR from when it was played on HDNet movies, which is the best version of it I've found so far, better than DVD. Still not up to Blu-ray quality by a good bit though!

Ready to replace my THX Laserdisc of it already!
