Default Wii gets Netflix this Spring

the Nintendo Wii will be joining the other two game consoles to stream Netflix starting some time in early Spring. Like the PS3, a special Netflix "instant-streaming" disc will be required for the Wii, and it goes without saying that HD's out of the question since the Wii itself can't push above 480p. There'll be no additional fees beyond Netflix's usual monthly subscription.
Not a big surprise here. A nice option for families who may only own a wii, though.

Lol, did you mean to post this in the game room?

Good for the Wii btw.

Now I kind of wish I didn't sell mine to my cousin. Too bad...won't do HD anyway.

This is totally out of left field. Wii's a fun system and there are some games I like on it, but unlike the other two, it doesn't do a lot of media playback-let alone HD.

I got my Wii Netflix disc today and it works flawlessly. Maybe my Wii will get some use now.

Article says that whether you have a 360, PS3, or Wii, you can use Netflix with no download. If I'm not mistaken, 360 still requires a download, unless they made a disc I don't know of. Even if it is pre-installed on new consoles, I'm sure you have to download updates to keep using it. Not a big deal, if you can stream, you can download, just wondering if I was wrong about this. 360 also requires an xbox live gold subscription in addition to the netflix subscription.

Anyways, got my disc, haven't tested it yet. Have all 3 consoles and think the Wii will be good to stream in the bedroom where its standard def and stereo anyway. Just gonna get a second set of AV cables, power adapter, and sensor bar so I can move it back and forth easily.

I've had a lot of problems with the disc for PS3 for some reason, so I'm looking forward to testing this one out. My internet connection is lousy anyway, so not having HD doesn't bother me too much.

Got my Netflix/WII disc a couple of day ago and have been enjoying it daily. All I have to say this was long overdue.

This part chaps my hide. It's not really a level playing field when one of the options costs more than the others which are all free.
