Default PS3 BC PS2 dts question?

I have a 60gb PS3 that is BC with PS2 games. I started playing GTA Vice City today and when I tried changing the audio from stereo to DTS there is no audio output whatsoever. I find this extremely strange since I have no problem watching Blu's in DTS MA. I tried changing settings around but can not get it to work. Does anyone have this same problem? If so is there a solution?

I am outputting via HDMI to my Pioneer VSX-91.

If anyone could help or give me some advice i sure could regain some of my sanity. Thanks!

Perhaps there is no DTS track on that Disc. Are you expecting it to take that stero track and make it DTS?

The game certainly does have a DTS track, and as soon as I switch to it the audio vanishes completely. No matter what setting I change there is no audio from the DTS track.

Well, I know you said you get the dts track on blu's...so my suggestion doesnt sound logical - but...You have checked the ps3 audio setting and checked the dts option?
