That is a good question. I would bet they have it blocked some how.

But, PlayOn is an option which allows you to stream Netflix, Hulu, etc to your PS3. It is also free to try:

I did a little bit of google-searching and based on what I read, Netflix is not supported under Linux.

well i tried it on my PS3 web browser just to see what would happen, and it works through microsoft silverlight, which is compatible with firefox. IIRC, you can get the firefox browser on your PS3 via Linux so i thought maybe it would work.

Get playon that the previous member suggested. Awesome program- when you go into your Netflix que on the PS3, it actually pulls up the cover art for all of the movies you have saved in your que. Well worth the money! I acutally did the trial, didn't buy, then got an email coupon for 1/2 of...making it $19.99.

Love my playon software. There are plugins for it for South Park Studios, Adult Swim, etc. You need to keep it up to date though as Hulu doesn't like it very much. Updates are free though after you buy it.

Umm I get cover art of all my movies through the BDP-1600's Netflix portal as well. I don't think its playon pulling it out of its databse.

Right- it's getting these from Netflix (I didn't think I was making it sound like PlayOn was adding them from their end.) The difference is...your BDP-1600 comes from the manufacturer with Netflix streaming ability. Since this isn't a feature that Sony pre-installs, it was a bit of a surprise to see the cover-art pop up in the XMB...that's what I was getting at.
