Default Got to ask this...

I think I may already know the answer to this one but..I just have to ask you guys that are way more knowledgeable about , , and HDTV's. A Costco employee (who seemed very informed about hi-def movies, gaming, and tvs) recently told me that I will be using my to its fullest potential, pq wise, when hooked up to a Sony HDTV rather than another brand. In addition, a Sony HDTV shows its pq at its best when it is hooked up to a or a Sony blu-ray player...according to this employee. I have never heard this before. Is there any truth to what this guy is claiming or what?? Thanks for all responses.

I highly doubt it. I use mostly Sony stuff but thats just because I like the brand and all of my remotes work on everything in the house.

I guess one might say that their electronics are color timed for each other or something but .......... thats probably just batha poo do.

I highly doubt that statement would hold water.

Yeah...that is what I thought as well. I just thought I would ask some of you guys who are more informed than myself. He was just so sure of his statements..and himself, lol.

If they added Bravia Theater Sync to PS3, sure it would be an advantage in functionality to use a Bravia TV, but there is no truth to what the employee said about getting better PQ from the PS3 when it is connected to a Sony TV. If that were true, Sony would probably be getting sued over it.

Lol, matching brands is cool and all, but he's feeding you a complete line of BS. We have a PS3 kiosk where I work connected to a 42" Sony LCD... and it looks awful. My Mitsubishi DLP absolutely blows it out of the water. The TV looks fine from a distance, but when you start to get close to it everything looks grainy for some reason...

Absolutely false...Sony may make superior pq products perhaps, and in that way it would be true (though I don't agree with that statement either, I think the new Samsung TVs are a better PQ and bargain), but there is no performance difference between a PS3 hooked up to a sony HDTV and a PS3 hooked up to a non-Sony TV with comparable PQ.
