Default PS3 price drop?

I heard a lot of rumors about a PS3 price drop in April or May. Mine just broke and I want to buy a new one. Should I wait a couple of month or buy one right now? Best Buy has a sale where I can get Killzone 2 for free.pppps3

Current rumors and speculation suggest something possibly being announced around late March.

Disclaimer -- This is based on the wonderfully reliable internet rumor mill.

I just saw an article on Bloomberg saying how several major game publishers were pressuring Sony for a PS3 price cut otherwise they would shift development funds to Nintendo Wii.

I find the statements in the article a bit skeptical. I can see publishers shifting towards making Wii games due to the size of the market share, but don't see most publishers dropping the PS3 unless they plan to drop the 360 as well. I just can't see publishers dropping one half the multi platform 360/PS3 production schem when the PS3 accounts for roughly 30-40% of a games sales and the cost of going multi platform vs sales increases.

I really wish the games would come down. I've got several pc buddies who do have a valid arguement that even when their video cards get older they still run on par with the PS3 and as I do agree as I went from pc to ps3. They also have the arguement that the games are $60 vs $40. Even on a lot of catalog titles this arguement remains true.

I don't think the publishers are saying they're going to drop the PS3. I think they're hinting to Sony that less money (and therefore less games) will be devoted to PS3 development if PS3 sales momentum doesn't improve.

Big worldwide mystery announcement coming Tuesday regarding "the Playstation brand". Price drop for PS2, PS3, or PSP? Or all the above? Only 2 days 'til we find out.
