Default HDMI problem and burn in?????

Everytime I load a Blu ray or game my TV goes screen goes pink sometimes and every time it make a popping sound and static sound.

I got a new HDMI and hooked it up but it still does it.

Everytime a game loads and a movie goes to a black screen you can go burn in for a few seconds from the last scene.

My 360 doesnt do it but its also not hooked via HDMI.

Do you think its my PS3 or HDTV?

Its the tv, I have a simular problem with a TV I have. Anything I put through HDMI (PC and PS3) causes problems But they work on my other tvs without a hitch. Tryed to have the problem resolved but the TV company said they had problems with their boards or the software in the TV that controls the HDMI, all the other inputs work fine. I'm in the middle of sueing them because I have had the TV repaired 5 times and even though its under warrenty they no longer want to replace it or fix the problem.

My sony RPHDTV does the pink screen flash, but no burn in or ghosted image. I figure it's a handshake issue since it only happens when I first turn the tv on or switch inputs on my reveiver, like from cable to ps3. It doesn't really bother me since the TV is like 7 years old and I am doing HDMI -> DVI connection on it.

It sounds like, at least in this case, that it's simply your TV's input auto detect switching and looking for the correct input. When the PS3 is moving around different areas of the disc, it will momentarily switch off the HDMI out so as to prevent pops and clicks, etc, believe it or not.

Try just using HDMI for video to the TV and use the PS3's optical out to run into your receiver. This is the setup I use, and while I do get the quick pink flashes when loading a disc, I never have an audible pop through the audio system.

Cool Yep.

Basically that's what's happening.

LCD panels aren't susceptible to burn-in [as plasmas are], but some will ghost the last scene if it quickly cuts from a shot to black. Likely, though, it's the PS3 sticking a little, either while accessing the disc or while the HDMI output turns off then back on.

I'm still learning the idiosyncrocies of the PS3 myself, so let's keep this forum going!
