assuming the receiver can pass 5.1+ PCM, then yes.

also OP states TV is 1080p, so PS3 should be set to 1080p as well

i'd also change the audio cd output frequency to 44.1/88.2/176.4 kHz... again assuming the receiver can output the upsample frequencies

On things I see is to set the HDMI sound to PCM, so you can listen to the HD soundtracks at their full range; set the video output to 1080p; and maybe bump up the audio CD import to 160bps or above if you want to listen to tracks on a home stereo.

I would deactivate HDMI RGB Full Range. There aren't any films out now that support it and on some displays the PS3 menu will look like it has a definitive black crush.

I guess it is a personal preference. I went back and forth for a while trying to see if one or the other was better to me; I concluded that I liked the look of "full" better.

I really much liked it at first. But then, my TV is in autocalibration mode and is going to add some extreme black crush in the evening.
