Default Router for PS3???

Anybody recommend a good router. I have never needed a router before until now. Want to get online with my PS3. I have a wired connection, via RR, via a modem. My PS3 is downstairs and my computer is upstairs. Running a wire to my PS3 is not an option. Have to go the wireless route. I have heard of Linksus, D-Link, and Netgear. Which should I go with???? Forgive if this post has been posted before. Thanks for all responses.

I'm using a Linksys WRT54G. It's a solid router that's easy to configure. Its wireless signal is always very strong.

Netgear routers are "ok", though I wouldn't recommend them since they have so many problems. I prefer D-Link or Linksys are much better IMO.

I use a Netgear and it never drops a signal with my PS3 or my laptop.

My friend suggested a Belkin, said he got 50% signal strength. I got a higher powered one and could not get it to work. Called support from PS3 and Belkin and both pointed the finger at the other.

I returned the Belkin and got a Linksys. Set up fine with 100% signal strength. Been working like a champ ever since.

Mine drops signal quite often, it's a Wireless 'G' rated router, sometimes completly goes offline and has to be rebooted. The router itself has heat/cooling issues, and is one of many Netgear routers that has had this problem. I don't think they're bad, but not great if you're into gaming and your connection is the difference between ruining your game or not. If you don't care about gaming, anything else is fine. Same reason I stopped using wireless mice...you never know when the batteries are going to go out, and it's always at the worst possible time.
