Default 'Terminator Salvation' - High-Def Digest Review

Tom has reviewed 'Terminator Salvation.' He says its better than you
might have heard. He even liked parts of it. That being said, this is
no James Cameron Terminator film. This Blu-ray has great video,
incredible audio, and a slew of HD exclusives. Recommended.

I actually enjoyed this movie. Thought it was a nice action-packed piece of fun and the robots were everything that Transformers robots aren't.

But I did laugh out loud when:
Spoiler
CGI Arnold appeared.

I saw this in theaters and was disappointed, however with Amazon selling this for under $16, and reading positive reviews elsewhere, I decided to pick it up and give it a 2nd chance. It is a better film then I thought after another viewing..far from being great, and the weakest of all the Terminator entries..it is still a good film. The PQ/AQ are great and I plan on doing a Terminator Marathon during NYE weekend

I did not see this movie in the theaters after the bad reviews. I was planning to rent the Blu-Ray version, but when the prices dropped as low as they did I just bought it. I watched it last night and have to say that I was expecting the movie to be much worse than it was (ie GI Joe, Transformers2). I actually enjoyed the movie and was glad I bought it. It is by no means a great movie. But it was good. I think 3 stars is pretty appropriate, and I might even give it 3.5 stars. The PQ/AQ was solid. I do agree with the reviewer that the movie was missing some elements that could have taken it to the next level, but it was one of the better action movies I have seen released on BD this year.

Got it for $5 from Best Buy after redeeming some RZ points. I don't go to movies much anymore since I can see most any movie at home on my giant TV with good sound minus the a-holes who typically populate theaters these days, but I was tempted by this one, but still didn't go. Can't wait to pop it in tonight. Love the $19 retail price, too.

You know whats funny? Both cuts of the film have the same age rating in the UK (12).

The Director's Cut is not much different than the theatrical cut. There's really nothing in it that would have bumped the movie up to an "R" from a PG-13 in the US either.
