Default 'This is Spinal Tap' - High-Def Digest Review

Drew has reviewed 'This is Spinal Tap.' He says the film is still hilarious after all these years. This Blu-ray has much improved video and audio, along with tons of extras (but not from the legendary Criterion edition). Highly recommended.

That's Rob Reiner, BTW, not Carl Reiner.

The UK import deluxe mini amp set demolishes this version.

Yeah it still urkes me a lot that the UK release has the better menus, more features, and magically puts all the content onto the blueray itself instead of adding a separate dvd. VERY lame US release of a US film.

The UK version does sound better, but I would love to see a comparison of image between UK & US.

But just to be very, very clear, the UK version is region locked, right?

Yep I am pretty sure which is why I am not even sure why it is even being discussed as an option here.

Why not? Technically, it's the best version of the film available.

Region free players are very affordable nowadays.

Most players aren't region free and this is a thread of a review of the Region A version. Region locked disc discussion should be discussed in the import sub-forum IMO.

I hadn't heard the UK version sounded better.
would be interested to actually compare for myself, but unfortunately I can't get lossless audio through my region B player.

I was hoping to dump my Criterion Collection disc till I read that the commentary from that disc wasn't on the blu-ray disc. How shitty, but I guess it's an ownership thing with the commentary.
