Default Need Gift Suggestion - Music Blu-ray for Audiophile

I'm not much of a music person, but I need gift ideas for a high-fallutin' audiophile. Looking for a music/concert Blu-ray with great audio, and preferably great content as well.

The Neil Young Archives are out. Any other suggestions you can throw out would be great, though.

Thanks!

first thing i was going to suggest was Neil Young Archives. shit.

How 'bout The Cure: Trilogy? Nine Inch Nails: Beside You in Time is also pretty great.

There aren't many Music releases that aren't concerts. You can also hit the Monterey Pop box set, as we all know how devoted Criterion is.

Seconded. I'm also hearing great things about The Talking Heads' STOP MAKING SENSE (not so much from a video standpoint, but from an audio one).

Is the recipient interested in classical music/opera? There are a number of solid Opus Arte releases, some which are audio and video and some that are audio-only.

Well if you are talking about great content, this one may be automatically out.

Celine Dion's Blu-ray concert is one of the clearest and best mixed audio releases on Blu-ray, and it's not just opinion.

I have MANY Blu-ray concerts, and this one proved to be the most impressive audio wise. John Mayer and Shakira both provide fantastic audio experiences as well. There are others of course, but just some that come to my mind.

The Last Waltz, if he's into classic rock. The PCM soundtrack is outstanding, and it's pretty much a whos-who of classic rock musicians (The Band, Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, etc.).

There's a part where the Staples Singers are performing "The Weight" with The Band, and Mavis Staples starts clapping her hands along with the music. Those handclaps come through crystal clear.
