Default 'Starman' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed 'Starman.' He says this movie remains a sweet and poignant sci-fi love story. This Blu-ray however is a disappointment, with ever so slightly improved video, audio that is also just sorta fine, and none of the supplements on the region 2 DVD. Fans, you have permission to rampage. This is a rental if only because it's such a missed opportunity.

Default what a disappointment . . .

This is one of my favorite movies of all time - and one I was really looking forward to in high definition. What a letdown. I'll probably pick it up anyway - but not until it's $10 which sounds like about what it is worth. Pity!

Yeah, I'll wait for this one to hit $10 or below as well...

Damn. Oh well, hopefully there's an import that I can snag and/or wait for the double dip.

A John Carpenter movie is better than NO movie at all.

I think Escape from L.A. will also be barebones.

Unconscionable that the R2 supplements are still MIA but since this is my all-time favorite John Carpenter film, I have little choice but to buy it. Sony should be embarrassed, though, not only about the missing extras but the grossly unjustified $28.95 SRP.

Never even heard of this film before. Is this guy like a distant cousin of Nightman and Dayman, masters of karate and friendship, champions of the sun?

Has this been announced already? I wouldn't mind picking this up even though Escape from N.Y. is far superior.

I've been on a John Carpenter kick lately too...just watched "Big Trouble In Little China", "Escape From N.Y.", "Assault on Precinct 13", and I picked up "The Thing" today. SO...maybe I'll spoil myself and pick up Starman anyways...

Briefly. Then they pulled, but the placeholder is still there.

I noticed the UK version has a release date and is already for pre-order; like 13 something pounds.

Ok so even though the soundtrack doesn't compare to todays releases, why only 3 stars for AQ when it's the "highlight" of this release and it was so much a part of the film?
