Default "Star Wars" BD Plan: Release Boxset Within A "few years"

according to a brand new interview, it looks like Lucasfilm is clearly thinking about tying the bd release of all 6 films to the eventual launch of a live action tv series.
whenever that happens.

I might be more excited about the documentaries and deleted footage.

After seeing how badly Lucasfilm screwed up the DVD release with their color correction and sound mixes (not to mention additional footage), I'm only excited about this to see how fans can undo their changes.

I forgot there was a live action show coming out to solidify my dark side hate and anger at all things Star Wars since ROTJ in 1983.

"I mean obviously we've been looking at that for a couple of years and I think one of the questions is when is the market penetration there and these days, will there be a market penetration before everything goes streaming?"

Goes to show what people here have said, that George Lucas will only release when something has been established as mainstream. My feeling? "Geez, George, take the money! You're going to rerelease it 65 times, anyway!"

Actually, he refers to "market penetration". Lucas will publish the Star Wars movies on Blu-Ray after it has reached a certain saturation point, as opposed to being considered mainstream. He released them all on Laserdisc, so its just an issue of maximizing profits based on whatever a format's potential is.
