Yeah, but the total sales is still in favor of DVDs with a 90% average, compared to only 10% for Blu-rays (according to The Digital Bits).

even if dvds are slipping, 90% of the population still uses em and a lot of them are even scared off or just not interested in blu-ray. dvds will probably still be around and doing well for another few years if not longer.

Let the BD marketing wheel SPIN. Come on now even Walmart has (surprisingly) scaled back on their BD display which wasn't much to begin with. DVDs still continues to dominate and I mean dominate the video physical storage media market. End of story.

All the Wal-Marts in my area have all but given up on Blu-Ray it seems. There's one tiny rack with a few releases, but nothing really new anymore.

Same here with my local Wal-Marts in Cincy. Maybe there will be more of a wider selection as the holidays get closer???

I think Wal-Mart is starting to realize their average clientele isn't buying BD. They're sticking to the 2 for $10 bins and cheap stuff on standard DVD.

I have seen it mixed. Here in Canada, a Wal-Mart close to home has a not bad selection including an under $15.00 bin where a bigger Wal-Mart in the big city has almost nothing. I was thinking at the time it was just a bad stock day / week or whatever.

Best Buy and Future Shop have a lot of overpriced Blu-rays but a few good deals too...

Both of these have pretty much stopped carrying the new Criterion releases here as well. The only deals I ever find at either place are still cheaper via eBay.
