planet earth bluray, 1080p issue

Hi , Im from Canada and I recently bought the planet earth bluray case (4 disks). it show on the box video format: 1080p. but when im playing it , my tv is receiving and showing me a signal of 1080i, how is this possible, I heard there is an issue about the real video format, and BBC reply an email saying there is no 1080p and that's a printing error.
so my question is how is possible that some poeple on other forum are saying that there HDTV display a 1080p when mine can't...
p.s. Im fully equiped to display a run a 1080p signal, if fact I already did with plenty of other movies like Wanted, Wally...

an other thing that is frustrating me is that SO many HDTV sellers told me its a must to have at home to really see what you HDTV is able of and I never wanted to buy this case cause I find it too expensif, now that I own it, I cannot even enyoy a full HD display, the funniest part of this is that my "India Reborn" DVD case got better images.. lol

If the narrator is a British male, it is the BBC series of Planet Earth and is in 1080p. If the narrator is an American woman, it is the Discovery Channel release and only in 1080i.

Can't find any specs on this French release, but I'm betting it's encoded at 1080i and that is why you are getting 1080i. If the package is misprinted, then they will probably re-issue the discs with the correct encode, at which point you can probably exchange it through the manufacturer.

is he talking about the HD or blu? originally he had HD on the post. In that case the player could be a 1080i only base player.

If the difference isn't like Cochise said then I would check the Blu players settings.

Is this the set?
Tower Planet earth Charles Tisseyre (narrator) and David Attenborough (narrator)

If so it is not a BBC or WB release (by Distribution Select?) and might have the wrong encode.

Settle down. It was your first post, and it came off a bit strange - you used the hhhhdvd icon for your post asking a question about a bbblu.

Is the cover of your Planet Earth in French language?
