I would care to see how the transfer looks but I doubt I'll be revisiting the flick.

the dvd version that was released recently in sept. or oct. looked really good for a SD DVD so I am hoping the blu-ray looks great. I will pick this up as i like the movie. Lets hope this gets better treatment/transfer than Carrie or the amittyville horror did.

this movie scared the hellllll out of me when i was a kid...or rather, i think it was bride of chucky. i've always been too scared to actually get around to watching the movie...now i'm nervous that i won't even find it suspenseful or anything and ruin some perfectly good childhood memories lol

i'll probably pick this up used or something

I wonder if they found the widescreen print of this movie. I had read somewhere a couple of years ago that the print had been lost and therefore that was the reason it had never came out in widescreen. Anyone know anything about it?

The version that came out last year is Widescreen. It's called the 20th Birthday Edition I believe.

Even if they didn't have the widescreen master, surely there was a copy of the film somewhere, kept for renting out etc, that could be cleaned up. They probably have a widescreen master, but if they didn't, while this wouldn't be ideal, it would be better than cropping the picture.

Chucky's 20th Birthday Edition to be specific. And yes, it's in anamorphic widescreen. The European release was in widescreen from the very moment the dvd was released. It wasn't anamorphic however.

Also, the press release is very confusing. "Chucky’s Thoughts", "The Advantages of Being Chucky", "Chucky on Filmmaking" and "Up Close and Personal with Chucky" are part of the select scene Chucky commentaries. "The Birth of Chucky", "Creating the Horror" and "Unleashed - Chucky: Building a Nightmare" are part of the "Evil Comes in Small Packages" making of documentary. And "Chucky’s Back B***hes", "Designer Toy" and "Evil Comes in Little Packages" are the names of the easter eggs found on the dvd. So, no new special features for the blu-ray.
