Default The Pianist

I'm guessing this is an import since it's not from universal?

It's been 3 years that I'm trying to get this title on HD DVD.

Now if I can put my hands on the Blu-Ray, that will make me very happy indeed.

Studio: Phantom Sound & Vision

You'd be right. Phantom is kicking Universal's ass at the moment as far as catchup titles.

I have the UK-HD DVD --- I'll wait for an extensive supplement package and possible better PQ/AQ before I replace it on Blu

This is one of my favorite movies. If I remember correctly I believe it won 3 Oscars and was nominated for another 44 different awards.

This will be a great addition if you can get it on bluray for a decent price. If not you may want to consider the HD DVD version for its an awesome transfer.

What's been holding you back? You can find it for under $5 new. Anyway I've had the HD-DVD since it first came out, I just noticed that Blu-Ray version coming out on the 12th on Amazon and wondered what the deal was...

Its a Canadian release. It can either b 1080i or 1080p, likely will have DTS MA and likely no extras.
