Default 'X2: X-Men United' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed 'X2: X-Men United.' Like many, he thinks this is the best of the series. This Blu-ray is almost mutant-like in its awesome Blu-ray powers, with top-notch video, audio, and extras. Highly recommended!

I agree. X-Men is decent, but it's not really anything special, but X2 was great. 3 of course, was ick...

Of course X2 was the best of the three. I don't think anyone with sound logic can dispute that. I, however, believe the first one to not be quite as far away from the awesomeness that is X2. And while The Last Stand serves as a popcorn flick at best, I found it to be enjoyable if not as complex and compelling as the first two. I'm glad to see they got the treatment they deserved in their blu-ray release. I'll be buying the trilogy.

The best of the 3 by far. Can't wait to add the first two to the library.

I think I will put the X-men movies the same as the Spider-man movie, one was fiarly good, two was great, and three was only ok. I think the review is pretty dead on, on this movie.

I think I wiill be picking up thes movies tomorrow.

It had never occurred to me to compare "X2" with "Empire Strikes Back," but Peter is right. "X2" really amplifies and deepens the themes from "X-Men," and also raises the stakes quite a bit. It's a bigger, more polished movie. But I'll always love "X-Men." I think its biggest shortcoming was Fox's tight budget, which limited the scope and even skimped on the optical effects.

The third one - hoo boy. Some good things in it, but overall a mess. Again, I put the blame squarely on Fox, who announced a release date before they even had a script.
