Warner/New Line has just announced the direct-to-video sequel for Blu:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/cell2.html

Specs include a BD-25 with 1080p/VC-1 video and TrueHD audio.

Extras are a featurette, Digital Copy and BD-Live connectivity.

No word on the original yet...

That MSRP is an absolute joke.

not the first DTV, sequel or otherwise, to have a new release MSRP, HDS. the good thing is, they usually drop like bricks in the secondhand market, so in under a month, amazon 3rd party would be sub-15.

Probably, and most likely with none of the original cast. They all moved on to bigger and better things once they got their stardom.

Vince Vaughn, yes. JLO? The Cell 2 might be better than everything she has done since the original Cell.

Ummm...how about you give us the originals before you start pushing crappy DTV sequels onto BD, Warner? I'd like the original The Cell and the original remake of House on Haunted Hill thankyouverymuch!

Oh god, this looks awful. The cover art makes it look like they've turned into some lame teen horror movie. Of course, none of the original cast, including writers and directors, are returning this one. Creating this sequel to Tarsem's "The Cell" is an insult to him, especially with the beauty and elegance his films have had(he also did The Fall).

I would rather have the original Cell on Blu-Ray instead of this sequel. I'll rent it, but I doubt it is going to be that good.

BTW, pointless trivia, but for those that were Power Rangers fans back in the day, the first dead girl you see in The Cell (the girl who is drowned at the beginning of the movie) is the girl who played Kat in Season 3, Zeo, and Turbo.

Wow! There was a Cell 2? I totally missed that one. I liked the first one and think I'll rent the second.
