Default Bluray and ps3 combo disc in the works.

I hope this is the right place to post this. I saw this on the yahoo home page. http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/p...ack-33/1290885

I would buy some of these. As long as I could play the movie in a standalone if I wanted and it wasnt just for the PS3 then why not.

You just know that a top title film would be 'paired' with a crap game thats not selling though and vice versa.

just one more thing to try to squeeze on the disc

i'd rather have higher bitrate for movie/bonus features than a PS3 game or game demo... if they want to include exclusive PS3 games/demos give people a code to redeem on PSN to download the game/demo

Combo discs, huh? I guess those would be sorta neat. I'm still waiting for those 3-D blu-ray discs though. I remember glancing at an article a while back about how the Playstation 3 and a Panasonic blu-ray player (I think it was Panasonic) were going to be capable of turning regular blu-ray movies into 3-D optional movies.

i don't think they mean flipper discs but possibly something similar to the twin format HD DVDs only with both layers being bluray layers but one is movie the other is game data but unless they use a triple or quad layer disc for this i'd rather just have the movie/bonus features on a BD-50 without game data

or something like i mentioned earlier where they just shoehorn the game data in with the movie but again they would be better off with a code redeemable on the PSN store to let us download the game or demo

no matter what i don't feel it's a good idea to cram crappy games on a movie disc

I'm pretty sure they don't need to be on separate layers any more than DVD-ROM content needed to be on a separate layer than DVD video. I wouldn't mind them putting a 1 gig demo on a disc, there's still plenty of room for the movie and extras left, but for a full game I would hope they put it on a separate disc with the extras like Fox did with the XBox demo on the Star Wars trilogy DVD set.
