Default 'A Time to Kill' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed 'A Time to Kill.' He isn't sure about the film's message, but he says the film is worth seeing. This Blu-ray has very, very nice video and audio, but no extras. Give it a rent.

So, how would we feel if OJ Simpson was shot dead on the steps of the courthouse?

That's the closest real-life analogue I can think of that reverses the racial roles across the board.

I agree with the reviewer that vigilante justice is not justice, but the strength of the film is that it makes us feel the same gulf of injustice that motivated his crime, even if it would not have led us to the same course of action. When it comes down to it, what are those to do who are denied justice?

hmm... as usual i question Peter's review on the movie itself. i think this is a great movie and definitely more than 2 1/2 stars.

Sites such as this one should stick to reviewing PQ and AQ rather than the film itself. That part of the review doesn't fit with the reception the film actually received from critics at the time it was released.

I wholeheartedly disagree with his review of the movie itself, as this is one of my favorite courtroom dramas. With that aside, I am happy to see the movie get another good review in terms of the PQ and AQ. Kind of a shame that it lacks any special features, but that won't keep me from buying it once the price comes down a little.

2 1/2 stars are 2 1/2 more than I would give this rancid piece of shit. If ever there were a movie that called out for a negative star rating scale, 'A Time to Kill' is it.

Wow certainly wasn't expecting 4.5 stars on the video for this nice old catalog....

I'm gonna have to seek out a sale on this one.

That is so far off base I hardly know how to respond. You must be mistaking this film for another.
