It looked like one of those films made for the oscar administration. Will give it a rent to see what the buzz is about.

excellent movie. All of the cast members deserve their nominations! and hopefully wins. My heart melted when Adams said
"And I like Frosty the snowman!"

Such innocence. Such compasion. Ah you gotta love film.

this is one of the best movies of 08 with excellent acting and story. the only reason it didnt get a nomination is because it's not rated r which isnt cool enough for the academy. every year they come out with another reason for me to hate them.

If only they had added a gay character, gave someone a disease, or set this during WWII in Germany, then it would have been nominated.

Or, combine the three and put in a gay nazi with polio.

Are you trying to say Milk was only nominated cause it was about someone gay?

Milk and Doubt were the best films of the year, IMHO.

Lol! That's why PSH was! He was supposedly a homosexual! Or was he? We don't know. And the rating has nothing to do with it.

It happens to be a good film, yes, but there's a history from the academy of tossing nods to gay films as a social statement. I mean, be honest, it was a good movie, but when it was announced deep down you knew it was going to get an oscar nod because of the subject matter, especially given the timing of real-life events and Hollywood loving to show off how progressive it is.
